Romina Vella

From where it began

Hello, I am Romina Vella, an Italian-born individual who made the life-changing decision to emigrate to Australia in 2008. Currently residing in the beautiful city of Brisbane, I proudly became an Australian citizen in 2012.

Aside from being a dedicated mother to my lovely son, I have successfully built and managed a thriving Taylor business. However, my true calling lies in the realm of mental health and helping others overcome their difficulties.

Fuelled by my passion for mental well-being, I pursued higher education at Griffith University, where I obtained a Bachelor of Counselling degree, specializing in Mental Health Counselling. This comprehensive program equipped me with a deep understanding of the human mind and effective therapeutic approaches.

I am proud to be recognized as a Counsellor-in ‘allied health professions Australia’, a testament to my commitment to providing top-notch counselling services. Additionally, I am affiliated with PACFA, demonstrating my dedication to upholding the highest professional standards in my field.

With an unwavering commitment to empowering individuals and fostering positive change, I strive to create a safe and supportive environment where clients can freely express themselves. My empathetic nature, combined with my extensive training, allows me to provide personalized and effective counselling to individuals from diverse backgrounds.

In summary, I am Romina Vella, a passionate and highly qualified Mental Health Counsellor dedicated to helping individuals surpass their difficulties and lead fulfilling lives. I bring a wealth of knowledge, experience, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of those I serve.

Professional Inspiration

Territory and Traditions

At present, my life and occupation are based on the territories of the Turrbal and Jagera tribes, who are the historic guardians of the landscapes and waterways in the Brisbane region. I extend my sincere reverence to their elders, both from the past and those who are still with us today, as well as those who are yet to emerge.
It was quite enlightening to learn that the Turrbal and Yuggera tribes have been residing in this vicinity for over 32,000 years, and their lineage dates back to more than 60,000 years. The local dialect spoken by the Turrbal and Jagera communities is Yuggera, and their indigenous name for Brisbane is Meanjin.
As I carry out my work on this terrain, I am committed to continuing my journey of discovery and learning about the people who are an integral part of this magnificent land, whilst fostering a deep sense of respect towards them.
